PRE-K

KINDERGARTEN READINESS

In our pre-kindergarten program, your child will develop more emotionally, physically, academically, and socially than ever before! Studies show that a quality Pre-K program positively impacts a child’s ability to be successful in elementary school and life. Our curriculum provides theme-based lessons and activities designed to bring out the strengths in every child, so they can enter Kindergarten with confidence and well prepared to learn!

PREPARING FOR KINDERGARTEN

Planned, theme-based lessons, strengthen a child’s emerging skills in reading, writing, science, technology and math. Kindergarten readiness is also fostered with a focus on effective communication, the ability to follow instruction, and work cooperatively with peers. By embracing every moment as an opportunity to learn, all developmental areas are met, unlocking every child’s potential.

OUR CURRICULUM PLANTS THE SEED OF EXCELLENCE

Our proprietary Seedlings Early Childhood Education Curriculum utilizes theme-based lessons to strengthen their emerging skills in reading, writing, science, technology, and math. Kindergarten readiness is fostered using a multi-sensory approach to learning. We encourage discovery through teacher guided instruction and child-led exploration focused on effective communication, the ability to follow instruction, and how to work cooperatively with peers. Enrichment programs such as Spanish Sprouts, Signing Sprouts, Singing Sprouts, Yoga & Mindfulness, and Handwriting Without Tears® expand on key building blocks that support our multi-sensory approach. By embracing every moment as an opportunity to learn, all developmental areas are met, unlocking every child's potential.
  • Creative Arts & Music: Together, we explore tempos and rhythms, sing in groups, learn about a multitude of instruments and create beautiful artwork, as we work to increase hand-eye coordination.
  • Physical & Well-Being: Learning the habits necessary to live a healthy, active life begins early in life. Large motor activities along with small muscle strength build fine-motor skills and healthy bodies. Children are developing large motor skills for sports and dance, and fine motor skills for writing and playing instruments.
  • Language & Literacy: Pre-K is a critical time for the development of language, literacy and a love of reading. Along with fostering verbal communication, reading and writing skills continue to expand through creative journaling and a classroom filled with labeled items expanding their vocabulary and sight word knowledge.
  • Mathematics & Science: Interactive learning using a whiteboard enables ocean exploration through underwater webcams, and STREAM activities create a rich environment of discovery. Children will also learn numbers, measurements, and patterns through hands-on learning.
  • Social & Emotional: Children build the self-esteem and self-regulation skills necessary to succeed in elementary school. Studies show that social-emotional intelligence is one of the best indicators of future success. By choosing playtime partners, forming friendships, and learning how to take care of personal needs, children build the independence and confidence needed to advance.
  • Cognitive: The development of reasoning skills allows preschool children to create innovative solutions as well as the ability to persist in solving difficult problems. It's all about the individual as we learn through a variety of themes and styles, so every child can progress naturally and without frustration.

"My son graduated as a well-rounded student. Not only is he prepared academically but he’s able to take care of his personal needs, work in group, and has learned to be a good listener… a major accomplishment! My confident little man is ready to take on his next challenge – elementary school."

LEARNING THROUGH PLAY

Our teachers are nurturing and committed early childhood professionals who are masters of finding fun and exciting ways to encourage your child's development with hands-on activities, active participation, and exploration. We know that children thrive and develop in different ways and that is why Lightbridge Academy cultivates an atmosphere expanding their innate abilities and building on their strengths. Our educators encourage children with a "Learning is Fun" philosophy through play and positive reinforcement.

QUALITY PRE-K LEARNING ENVIRONMENT

Studies show that children who participate in a quality Pre-K program are prepared to learn and perform better throughout elementary school. Having a safe, stimulating, and comfortable learning environment are important to the overall success of any early education program.

For this reason, our Pre-K classrooms are designed to be bright and cheery, with plenty of room to explore and create, a place where teachers, parents and children feel comfortable and at-home. Arranged in center-based learning environments, your child can follow their interests to the Building Center, Imagination & Expression Center, Reading Center or one of many others. With fun-filled and age-appropriate puzzles, manipulatives, games and toys, children love learning. Interactive whiteboards and iPad technology tables capture the attention of students. Teachers foster active participation and children are engaged through a stimulating multimedia learning experience.
